National Consultation and Development Forum launched
[11.Apr.2009 - 20:14]National Consultation and Development Forum launched First meeting of National Consultation and Development Forum (NCDF) was held in Peshawar under the presidentship of Mr. Jamal Khan the other day, in which political activist, doctors, professors, Pashtun intellectuals , writers, lawyers, engineers and Labor representatives participated .Asad Afridi advocate presented his welcome address while Kamran Arif of HRCP conducted the session. After the welcome address jamal Khan disclosed about the aims and objectives of the NCDF and informed the participants that NWFP, FATA Pakhtunkhwa are comparatively less developed parts of Pakistan and for the last one decade the socio- economic indicators have gone from bad to worse. Successive govts neglected this area and its people. The province witnessed the worst kind of economic stagflation. Law and order deterioted to a level never seen before. People are worried about their safety rather than economic progress. In such situations, the people of FATA and province are very disheartened and think that the incumbent govt. can neither comprehend their miseries nor formulate policies to address it .people see no alternative that can fill the vacuum created by rapid disappearance of the incumbent ruling parties and those who ruled earlier. He said that writ of govt in province and FATA is very fragile .Local problems in FATA have grown to a level where they are major threats to the international security. To fill the growing political void in NWFP and FATA a new political initiative is the need of the hour. Consultation was also addressed by prominent political figures like Latif Afridi, Aimal khan ,Dr said Alam Mehsood Ghani Khattak Kifayatulla advocate Naveed advocate Prof. Ijaz Khatak Dr Shahida , Engineer Asif ali Khan Gul Rehman Prof. Dr. Shafiq , Ijaz Durrani, Zarteef Khan Afridi, Israr Afridi, Nisar Khan, Dr Shafi, Dr. Bakht Jehan , and Zar ali khan musazai . It was decided that next meeting would be held within three weeks in which Political activists affiliated with different political parties would participate who would give suggestions how to take the Forum forward and bring more and more intellectual and political workers to it for the development and prosperity of this deprived and backward region of Pashtun.
